“His hand shot out straight at my face. I was already moving, twisting to the side, my hands coming up to block, his fist grazing my forehead, the glass he was holding shattering.”
The previous week I had been researching self-defence & combat
systems, I found myself shying away from more traditional forms and
was too busy to invest time in a complicated system. I wanted a
simple, effective form of self-defence which dealt
with modern problems.
Six days previously I had come across a reference to Krav Maga, a
discipline I had never heard of. Bizarrely I seemed to see
references everywhere.
By the end of the week I had researched clubs and courses, a cheque

Then the incident above occurred, a completely unwarranted attack from a complete stranger. Had I not received any prior training, I'm sure that I could have lost an eye and possibly sustained more serious injuries.
Needless to say I signed up the following day for an induction
course with Soo Dixon, then the only instructor in London
I have trained in Judo & Aikido with my main grounding being
in Traditional Tae Kwon Do at the Canterbury Tae Kwon Do club under
Sabom Nim Ian Wheeler.
There then followed a spell in ‘The Parachute Regiment’.”
The system I teach is the system taught to the FBI and other law
enforcement agencies
Mike has trained with Global Chief Instructor Eyal Yanilov and other
members of the global training team regularly attending various
seminars
In addition Mike regularly trains with other members of the Krav
Maga London Team, also cross training in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, boxing
and Mu thai.
Mike Kapsalis is a Krav Maga Instructor licensed and affiliated by IKMF
Mike also works as a Personal Trainer and Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist
